 e remarkable flexibility and imagination of the plainsong\,. Featuring mu
 sic by Maurice Duruflé (his deeply moving Requiem and Missa Cum Jubilo)\,
  coupled with the purest plainsong (but never plain!) of Hildegard of Bing
 en (Columba Aspexit).  Also included are other colourful works by Gustav 
 Holst (an eight-voice setting of Ave Maria for female voices) and Cecilia 
 McDowall (The Lord is Good - an intensely expressive setting for two sopra
 no soloists and choir based on the Lamentations of Jeremiah).\n\nThe Byrds
  will be joined on this occasion by organist Stephen Hargreaves\, Mezzo-so
 prano Susan Marrs\, Baritone Damian O'Keeffe and cellist Stephen Laidlaw\n
